SHRM 2026 once again proved why it is the premier event for HR professionals in the United States

With hundreds of educational sessions, thousands of attendees, and an expo hall showcasing nearly every HR technology and service imaginable, the event offered an unparalleled opportunity to hear directly from HR leaders about their biggest challenges and priorities.

What stood out most was the incredible breadth of learning opportunities. Whether someone worked in talent acquisition, compliance, total rewards, employee experience, or another HR specialty, there were sessions tailored to their specific challenges. At the same time, attendees could step back and hear broader leadership perspectives from speakers like Oprah and Simon Sinek. It was a great reminder that HR leaders aren't just focused on policies and processes. They're investing in becoming stronger business leaders and shaping the future of work.

Our cross-functional team, including sales, marketing, sales enablement, and partnership professionals, attended SHRM with two goals:

  • Share how Safeguard Global helps organizations build and manage global workforces.
  • Listen. Every conversation was a chance to better understand what HR leaders are
experiencing today.

Common themes we heard

We loved being able to hear from HR leaders directly. After dozens of conversations, several consistent themes emerged:

  • Global hiring continues to grow, but compliance remains a significant concern.
  • HR teams are looking for practical AI applications, not hype.
  • Organizations are balancing efficiency with employee experience.
  • Talent shortages continue to push companies toward more flexible workforce strategies.
  • HR leaders value partners who can simplify complexity rather than add to it.

Looking ahead

To everyone who visited the Safeguard Global booth, engaged in a conversation, or shared their perspective with our team, thank you. We look forward to continuing the conversation long after SHRM. Please contact us or reach out via LinkedIn.
