Senior Applications Engineer (Hardware) – High Precision Censors Manufacturer – Los Angeles, CA

We are seeking a Senior Field Applications Engineer for a High-Precision European Censors manufacturer in the greater LA area. The role requires experience in serving as the engineering SME to assist customers with the full cycle product integration from product qualification to testing solutions. The incumbent will work closely with the R&D, Engineering, Sales and Customer teams and will require experience with positioning, 3D tools, and analysis tools. This role will report to the Director of Field Applications Engineering. The role offers an exciting work environment and 100% health coverage to employees.

 

Job Responsibilities:

· Prepare and conduct onsite product demonstrations and customer tests,

· Manage test and support equipment including product check, scheduling,

· Assist sales team with technical inputs for bid answering,

· Attending in dedicated Trade Shows and Conferences to support the Sales team.

· Responsible for proving pre-sales and after sales support including on site assistance for installation and commissioning,

· Provide onsite or remote customer training, and manage equipment return for tests and repairs.

· Maintain Technical documentation and reviews and test new products, including firmware and software

· Maintain communication between sales teams, customers and R&D teams to provide consistent feedback related to failures and improvement requests

 

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering sciences such as Geomatics, Embedded Systems, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or other relevant areas
  • 5+ years of experience in and knowledge of Navigation and Positioning as well as 3D imagery acquisition systems (land, air, marine) such as GNSS, inertial, Imaging, Lidar, etc.),
  • Proficiency in measurement analysis tools such as Octave, MATLAB or others
  • Ability to work well with R&D, Sales and Customer teams
  • Passion for hardware engineering and working with hardware products
  • Experience in building, designing and testing hardware/firmware products
  • Strong engineering mindset and ability to travel to customer sites in North America
